"Thanks again for a great cottage which is a perfect base
for trips into the hills and winter walking expeditions."
The large, fenced garden at
self catering holiday cottage, Killin.
Bridge Park self catering holiday cottage was once a croft and it has a large, sunny garden with many mature trees, shrubs and lots of wildlife visits the bird table.
At the front there is a small lawn surrounded by a low stone wall with a large sloping lawn down to the field (or park) that surrounds the cottage on three sides. Across this field, where sheep and sometimes cattle graze, runs the River Lochay that has many trees along it's banks. There is a table and chairs and a couple of loungers for the long, hot summer days.
At the back of the house there is a large lawned area with fruit trees and lots of space for games. On a mound by the gate is a large oak tree that often has a swing rope attached to one of the lower branches. There is also a substantial stone shed, or bothy, that is lockable and is used for storage of fishing gear, bicycles and garden equipment, etc. Presently there is also a store of wood that can be sawn and split if required for the open fire (sawn wood also available in the village).
A small burn runs down the East side or the garden that at one time was the water supply to the croft. You will enjoy constant entertainment of the from wildlife that appreciates the bird table just outside the kitchen window as well as glorious views up the Glen.
